• [S1] 1939 Register (England/Wales). The 1939 Register was designed to record details of every member of the civilian population of England and Wales (but not the Channel Islands or Isle of Man) on 29 Sept 1939. The register books show each person's name, address, gender, marital status, occupation and exact date of birth. Images of the books are on Findmypast (https://tidd.ly/3KIWGEW) and Ancestry (https://bit.ly/AncSS). Findmypast has images of some records that are not yet visible on Ancestry.

  • [S13] SHEPPARD Family Bible. Bible printed in 1736 by John Baskett, Oxford, with SHEPPARD family names/dates written on the page before the Book of Genesis. • [S16] Diary of Edith HUDSON, 17 Sep 1887 - 23 Nov 1887. Edith, aged 16, used a purple pencil and an exercise book to record details of the trip from Middlesbrough to London, the voyage to Queensland, and the first days on their land near Helidon. Edith travelled with her mother, sisters Mary Emma aged 19 and Florence aged 5, and brother Alfred aged 11. Also on board were Edith's uncle, Robert HUDSON, with his wife Ada and their four children. Edith's father George and her brothers George Henry and Frederick had emigrated earlier to establish a home for the family. Edith's diary was held by her grandson, George LUCK, who kindly allowed Judy WEBSTER to transcribe it and donate the transcript to the John Oxley Library, Brisbane, Queensland.
